We bought this house in August 2007:

It started off totally khaki in the inside (I say khaki, my husband says “contractor tan”). But then we got to looking at how we wanted to decorate it and decided, hey, we like us some color.

So the formal living room (currently sans seating) is yellow:

And the accent wall (which is to your right in the picture above) is the color of the sky in my painting above the fireplace (also in the picture above):

And the kitchen? It’s a lovely asparagus green. You think I kid? Check out Behr paint at Home Depot. It’s really called asparagus. And it’s awesome.

And the front part of the house is a lovely purple blue. All the colors, of course, are found in the painting in the yellow living room. It just really was the perfect foundation piece for us.
